Terms of Service

The conditions for using myjournal, a quiet journal in your own Google Drive.

Last updated: 11 October 2026

Using myjournal

These terms apply when you use myjournal. The app provides one plain-text journal entry per day, with browsing, calendar navigation, and trash controls. You need an internet connection and a Google account with available Drive storage. Access may be limited to approved test users while the app is in testing. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

Your writing

You retain ownership of your journal entries. You give myjournal permission to process your entries and account connection only as needed to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. You are responsible for the content you save and for having the rights to use it. We do not claim ownership of your writing.

Responsible use

Use only accounts you are authorized to access. Do not use the service for unlawful activity, attempt to access another person’s data, bypass access controls, or disrupt the app or its providers. Keep your Google account and the devices you use secure.

Availability and keeping your files safe

myjournal depends on Google Drive, hosting services, and your connection. Availability, uninterrupted access, and error-free saves are not guaranteed. Keep independent copies of writing that matters to you. Browser drafts are temporary recovery aids, not permanent backups or offline synchronization. Closing a tab or clearing site data can remove them. Google controls Drive storage, Trash, and revision retention.

Saving and conflicting edits

The app checks content versions to help detect changes, but Google Drive updates are not an atomic compare-and-save operation. Simultaneous editing in another app, browser tab, or overlapping server deployment can cause lost updates or duplicate entries. Avoid simultaneous editing of the same entry and check save feedback before leaving the page. Keep a copy of unsaved text when an operation fails.

Ending your connection

You may stop using myjournal at any time. Sign out removes the app session; Disconnect in Settings also revokes its Google access when revocation succeeds. Saved files remain in your Drive. Moving an entry to trash does not permanently delete it; manage permanent deletion in Google Drive. We may restrict or suspend access to address misuse, security issues, or service changes.

Service and terms changes

Features and availability may change, and the service may be discontinued. Changes to these terms will appear here with an updated date. Review changes before continuing to use the app. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or obligations that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
